“Yul Edochie drama has taken a new twist” — Lawyer spills
In the latest twist of the Edochie family drama, Emeka Ugwuonye, the founder of the DPA Organisation and May Edochie’s legal representative in her divorce case from Nollywood star Yul Edochie, has sharply criticised Yul for allegedly neglecting his responsibilities towards their children.
Ugwuonye’s scathing remarks were sparked by a recent episode of media personality Nedu Wazobia’s “Honest Bunch” podcast.
During the show, actress Yvonne Jegede voiced her support for Yul, questioning why he faces constant criticism for taking a second wife while Ned Nwoko, another prominent polygamist, receives widespread support.
In a fiery new video, May Edochie’s lawyer highlighted the stark differences between Yul and Ned. He accused Yul of failing to pay his children’s school fees, a duty that Ned Nwoko, in contrast, consistently fulfills. Ugwuonye argued that this neglect is a key reason why Yul faces relentless criticism while Ned enjoys widespread admiration.
According to Ugwuonye, Yul callously told his daughter Danielle that her mother, May, who reportedly earns more than him, should handle the school fees. This dereliction of duty stands in sharp contrast to Ned, who not only covers his children’s school fees but also takes on various household expenses.
The drama began in 2022 when Yul Edochie took a second wife, Judy Austin, against the wishes of his first wife, May. May made it clear that she would not be part of a polygamous marriage, a stance that did not sit well with Yul, who continued to flaunt his relationship with Judy.
As a result, Yul and May have been living separately and have initiated divorce proceedings.
