Youth takeover of Eleme council: Unwavering support for Governor Fubara
Eleme Youths Storm Council Secretariat After Fubara’s Statewide Broadcast, Chase Away Agents
The young people of Eleme Local Government Area in Rivers State have broken into their council office and said that governor Siminalayi Fubara is the only person they trust.
This happened after Fubara told people across the whole state that Heads of Local Government Administration should take over running the 23 LGAs in the state.
After taking over the council, the youths pushed out those who were against the governor’s order.
A huge group of youths surrounded the council building and said that no one could take anything that belonged to the council.
One of the youths, who asked to remain anonymous, told Vanguard that they were at the council office to make sure that the governor’s order is followed.
He said that they only know Fubara’s power and that they have taken over Eleme.
According to him, “All of them have disappeared, because we have come to take over. The governor is the power that we know. We have taken over Eleme. Total take over.
“The governor is the power we know, there is no other power. We have taken over Eleme. Eleme is taken. Their tenure has elapsed they should go home.”
