Youth Corp Member meets end in crossfire with Bandits
A Youth Service Corp member has been reported killed from a stray bullet during a string operation between security agents and bandits along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway.
The bandits clashed with security agents while trying to cross the highway at Kasarami Village on Friday night. As gathered by Daily Trust on Sunday, the deceased was a serving Corp member in Abuja who was met by a bullet to the head while on a Kaduna-bound commercial vehicle.
Sources close to the scene according to the reports, revealed about 7 bandits were killed in the sting operation.
“The victim was hit by a stray bullet because there was a serious crossfire between the security agencies and the bandits that tried to cross the main road at Kasarami village which is a route they use. But the security men, among them soldiers, at Rijana engaged them killing about seven of them and recovered motorcycles,” one of the sources was quoted saying.
The deceased young man was said to have been rushed to Saint Gerald Hospital but couldn’t make it as he was hours later confirmed dead.
The victim who was identified as Malam Aliyu is set to be buried immediately, according to Islamic rites.
