Young Nigerian boy drowns in Yandanko area, Kano
A young Nigerian boy Humaira Muhammed has drowned in a river at the Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano.
Saminu Abdullahi, Public Relations Officer of the State Fire Service confirmed the incident in a statement.
The teenager died Wednesday afternoon while swimming in open waters in the Yandanko area.
Abdullahi said the service received a distress call from Nasa’i Abba at about 12:13 pm.
A rescue team dispatched to the scene recovered the body at about 12:39 pm.
The corpse was handed over to the ward head of Yan Sama village, Alhaji Muktar Abdullahi.
The statement advised the public to discourage their kids from local swimming and other dangerous places.
