Young man rapes and impregnates 13-year-old girl in Nasarawa

A young man has been apprehended by the police for the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in Nasarawa State.

The 20-year-old suspect was arrested by the Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC and was paraded at the State Headquarters of the Corps in the States Capital on Thursday, September 29, 2022.

Confirming the arrest, the Public Relations Officer to the COmman, DSC Jerry Victor made the disclosure in a statement to the press.

He said;

“The command arrested a 20-year-old, Haruna Mohammed for r#ping, defiling and impregnating Sa’adatu Mohammed (Not real name) a 13-year-old in Laying Kaji, Lafia Nasarawa State,” he stated.

“The suspect confessed to have committed the act and promised to marry the underage girl. The suspect will be charged to court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution,” he added.

Meanwhile, the State Commandant, Abbas Bappa Muhammed, called on parents and guardians to be vigilant about their children and wards.
