You’ll move backwards—God warns Liverpool

Liverpool’s summer transfer moves even though have been quite positive and productive, it hasn’t stopped God from worrying.

Liverpool legend and former player, Robbie Fowler who during his stay at Anfield was popularly nicknamed, ‘god’, has sounded a warning to the club and its manager concerning its summer activity.

The Reds fan shows sincere concern over the lack of response to pressing matters, like the squad depth as he worries over the departures from the team that aren’t going to be replaced.

He notes that players like Divock Origi, Takumi Minamino leaving without adequate replacements could take the club backwards as Manchester City keeps improving on its squad depth.

Robbie Fowler, who is the Kop outfit’s all-time highest Premier League goal scorer, is of the opinion that the club needs to replace the players they have sold.

The 47-year-old said:

You’ll move backwards—God warns Liverpool

“One of Liverpool’s problems over years was that… they never had the squad to compete on every level. All of a sudden they got that squad to compete at every level.

“I don’t want Liverpool to be in the same boat they’ve been in a few years ago when the squad wasn’t great.

“When you start getting rid of maybe three or four players, the squad is not as strong as it was.

“So then you maybe go back to the level it was maybe a few years ago. And I don’t think Liverpool can afford to do that now.

“I want them to sign more players. If you are not necessarily standing still, you are going backwards, because teams will sign players.”

With God’s opinion clear, one can’t wait to see what the Anfield club does next or how next season turns out for them in general.
