“You dance as you work” — Former President praises Adeleke
Former Nigeria’s president, Olusegun Obasanjo has nothing but praises for Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke who the media endearing dubbed ‘the dancing Governor’.
Following the commissioning ceremony of the Government House VIP Lodge in Osogbo, Osun State’s capital, the ex-president offered some counsel amidst the praises he showered on Adeleke.
In his address, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo urged the Osun State governor to maintain the same enthusiasm and dedication following his good works just as he keeps the same spirit on the dance floor.
Obasanjo also drew attention to Adeleke’s energetic and inclusive approach to governance. He recalled a previous conversation with Adeleke where he encouraged the governor to maintain his vibrant persona while ensuring effective governance.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by Adeleke upon assuming office, Obasanjo lauded the governor’s initiative in convening a meeting with leaders of his party, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration in driving progress.
“It is a good move, which is not only good for your party, but for the state and the country. You said government is a continuum; you also said you are working on all abandoned projects; may God crown your efforts.”
He highlighted the presence of notable figures such as Senator Olu Alabi, former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Fatai Akinbade as a positive step towards fostering cohesion within the political landscape of the state.
Obasanjo expressed optimism about Adeleke’s commitment to addressing the state’s developmental needs, particularly through the revival of abandoned projects. He encouraged the governor to prioritize effectively and remain steadfast in his pursuit of excellence.
Reflecting on the dynamic nature of governance, Obasanjo emphasized the importance of integrity and conscientious decision-making. He encouraged Adeleke to uphold these values while serving the people of Osun State.
