You Can't Sing, It's Paid Promotion That Helps You - Singer Portable Blasts Wizkid

Controversial street singer, Habeeb ‘Portable’ Okikiola has blasted Grammy-Awards-winning singer, Wizkid that he lacks talent of singer.

I Want My New Songs To Inspire My Kids — Wizkid

This is coming after the Afrobeats singer, Wizkid took a jab at rap artistes.

In reaction to Wizkid saga, Portable claimed that he (Wizkid) uses autotune to amplify his sound, making people keep having issues hearing the wording of his songs.

Speaking further, the Zazuu crooner also accused Wizkid of using promotion to push his songs or album releases, not because of his talent as people thought.

Portable also chastised him for often singing about women and questioned if he would ever sing Godly or spiritual songs.

He said that anytime Wizkid releases a song that doesn’t ‘blow,’ his team employs sponsored advertising to propel it to the top of the charts.

Meanwhile, Wizkid’s official Disc Jockey, DJ Tunez, has said that the Grammy winner’s rap statement was not meant towards Nigerian rappers.

He turned to Twitter to clarify what was seen as an insult to hip hop performers in the nation.

In an interview with 10 magazine, the “Essence” singer said that rap is dead, saying that Afrobeats should dominate the Hip Hop genre.

According to the CEO of Starboy Entertainment, Hip Hop artists typically rap on the same tracks and have similar approaches.

Wizkid also rushed to social media to say that Nigerian rappers are non-rappers who lack growth, and he went on to name South Africa’s Nasty C and Ghana’s Sarkodie as the continent’s “genuine rappers.”

Following that, Wizkid faced reaction, mostly from Nigerian rap artists, who either reacted to him online or made diss raps.

Following the rappers’ attacks on Big Wiz, DJ Tunez questioned them whether they really believe his interview is about them.

He tweeted; ”Y’all really think baba was talking bout y’all in that article? 😂 Come on guys!”
