You are going nowhere, We’ll stop you—Ajax tells Anthony

Ajax aren’t ready to mess around in the transfer market and very much aren’t ready to play ball with player, Anthony who has done everything to force the hand of the club amidst interests from Manchester United.

The Ajax head coach, Alfred Schreuder speaking of Anthony’s reported move to Manchester United, revealed that the club would do everything in their power to stop the transfer.

The manager, who did not hide the fact that the winger was ready to quit the Dutch champions, said the club would not let happen no matter how hard the player tries to force.

It is very much public knowledge that the Brazilian favors a move to Old Trafford as he has refused to train with the team amidst continuous links to the Red Devils.

Manchester United has seen their offers for the player rejected on multiple accounts, with the Red Devils tabling a new offer in excess of €90 million (£76m) to land their mark.

Apparently, the Dutch side will only consider a sale worth around €100m (£84.5m).

With Ajax drawn in a group of death with the likes of Liverpool, Napoli and Rangers in the Thursday, Champions League draw, the Dutch champions will need all the hands to come out of the group.

Schreuder speaking of the move, gave no indication that Antony will be heading to United any time soon.

“I continue to assume that Antony will continue to play at Ajax.” He said.

“I understand what he wants but he has a contract with Ajax and I think we are a nice club, too. The finances are not up to me.

“We know a little bit about how football works, don’t we? The boy really wants to go, but then it doesn’t necessarily mean it will happen.

“We’re going to do everything we can to stop that,” Schreuder said.
