Yobe Deputy Gov, Gubana loses daughter days after mourning son’s death

Idi Barde Gubana, the deputy governor of Yobe State is yet again bereaved over the death of his daughter, just days of mourning his son’s death.

Engr. Idi Barde Gubana had lost one of his children to a ghastly road accident last weekend.

His son who was named after the state governor, Buni died alongside two others in a crash that happened last Saturday along the Maiduguri-Kano expressway.


Mourning his son, Gubana said, “I will forever remember him as somebody close to me.’’

However, it saddened the general public that before he had to get over his son’s death, yet again, Gubana’s 16-year-old daughter, Khadija Idi Barde (Siyama), who was said to have been involved in the Saturday accident died in the hospital today, Thursday, 16.

According to reports, Siyama was rushed to a Kano hospital when the accident happened, she, however, gave up the ghost on Thursday morning at the hospital where she was being treated.

Until her death, Siyama was an SS II student of Essence International School, Damaturu, the state capital, Naija News learnt.

Meanwhile, the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor; Hussaini Mai Suleh had confirmed earlier in a press release that Siyama would be laid to rest this evening at Mai Fune Emir’s in Damagum.
