Yahaya Bello secret hiding place revealed

In a startling revelation, Austin Okai, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency in the 2023 elections, has claimed that former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello is currently hiding in the state government house to evade arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The EFCC declared Bello wanted in April after he failed to appear before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja for arraignment on charges of alleged N84 billion money laundering. Despite multiple calls for information regarding his whereabouts, Bello’s location has remained unknown until now.

Okai alleges that Governor Usman Ododo is assisting Bello in evading arrest. According to Okai, Bello was whisked away from Benghazi Street Zone 4 in Abuja with the help of Ododo. “This information was reportedly brought to the President and Commander-in-Chief by the Northern Ethnic Youth Group Assembly (NEYGA),” Okai said in a statement released on Friday.

He further stated that the Attorney General of the Federation had warned Governor Ododo against obstructing justice. “It is widely believed that Bello is currently hiding in the Kogi State Government House, where he is being protected by Governor Usman Ododo. The truth remains that Ododo is allegedly being directed by Yahaya Bello from a hidden location,” Okai added.

These allegations have added fuel to the already tense political atmosphere in Kogi State, raising concerns about political interference and corruption. The EFCC has yet to confirm or deny these claims, leaving the situation in a state of flux as authorities continue their search for the former governor.
