Xavi done with some Barcelona players, Wants them gone

Things haven’t gone quite well with Barcelona in recent times, and with the club being in  a deep mess over La Liga rules and debts garnered over the years, Xavi wants to cut costs by selling some of its players.

It is reported that the Barcelona manager has arranged for at least 7 of its players to be sold I this current summer transfer window in order to be able to register players for the coming season.

Due to some La liga sanctions, the Catalan club has been unable to register some players it has signed this window, with Barca only recently able to register the likes of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie after signing them months ago.

In essence, according to UK Sun, Xavi Hernandez wants to ship some of the club’s players out before the 2022/23 campaign, and the players to fall casualty are Martin Braithwaite, Pedro Neto and Samuel Umtiti.

Others include Riqui Puig, Oscar Mingueza and Rey Manaj who recently joined Watford.

Memphis Depay who recently joined the club from Lyon not quite long ago could also be on the way out of the club.

It is reported that Xavi Hernandez views them surplus to requirements and would not be requiring their services.

Despite the club’s woes on the financial side, the manager intends having a competitive Barcelona challenging for the La Liga title next season.

Judging from last season’s outing, the club is not far from posing a challenge on Real Madrid considering they finished second behind them last season even after a torrid and inconsistent campaign.
