William Saliba has a lot to prove this Season—Former Arsenal player says

According to former Arsenal defender, William Gallas, one of the exciting prospects this season is Arsenal’s William Saliba.

The former defender says that William Saliba is one of the players he is most excited to see in action going into the season.

This comes in response to the Arsenal player having spent the last 3 seasons on loan at French clubs in search of minutes and experience.

William Saliba enjoyed quite the impressive spell last year with Marseille and was named the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Season.

With the player yet to play a single minute since leaving the Gunners on 3 successive loan spells, Gallas believes now is the time for the player to shine and prove himself under current manager, Mikel Arteta.

While speaking to Genting Casino, He said:

“I’m interested to see how Saliba does, of course, he’s French and last season, he played for my former club Olympique de Marseille and now he’s back at Arsenal.

“Last season he wasn’t happy because Arsenal didn’t give him the opportunity to play, so now he has to show everyone at Arsenal that they got that decision wrong.

“He has to show character, but don’t forget that playing for Marseille and Arsenal are two very different things.

“The pressure is not the same. Even though Marseille have passionate fans and they adore their players – in England, it is a completely different type of pressure. Arsenal is a big club and everybody is waiting to see if Saliba is going to have a good season.”
