Champions of England

Is it really a victory if you didn’t have to shed a tear after overcoming the challenges that stood in front of you? It certainly isn’t.

A victory is only made sweet if you are made to fight for it, and rightly so, Liverpool made Manchester City to deserve the league title they won on Sunday, by taking them right down to the wire.

And it was something, Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola had to cry for.

The challenge was just amazing, it was one the manager had to sweat his ass off, over think of during the 90 minutes of the game, as a determined Aston Villa came right down at City’s throat for the 3 points that could have cost him the League title.

It didn’t help matters when Liverpool were coming right at them, in their own fixture against Wolves as the team fought hard to ensure the league wasn’t decided by their final match day opponents, Wolverhampton Wanderers but Manchester City, by their own merit.

Manchester City and Guardiola didn’t disappoint, as they came back from 2 goals down to win the game and the league with a 3-2 victory, with goals from Rodri and Ilkay Gundogan in the space of 5 minutes.

Manchester United legend, Gary Neville after the game, noted that Pep Guardiola was in tears on Sunday because he could not cope with the joy of winning the Premier League title over Liverpool.

The cameras had caught the Manchester City boss in tears after his side pulled off the incredible comeback against Aston Villa to win the 2021/22 Premier League title.

Nevile in his words said, “Pep Guardiola can’t cope. That shot there of him crying says it all. The images of Pep Guardiola’s career will be him in tears at the final whistle today because he knows how hard his team have had to work to get there.

“Four titles in five years – it’s dominance. They’ve signed Erling Haaland and they’re only going to get better.”

It indeed was a deserved one, and a dominance Guardiola sure deserves.
