Reacting to this news, the media personality slammed the event, stating their aim to prevent the African Genre, Afrobeat from taking over.

According to him, the Shakti’s album, “This Moment” that won the Best Global Music Album doesn’t have up to 1 million views on YouTube.

VeryDarkMan also claimed that he had no idea who Tyla was up until yesterday and her song, “Water” was hyped by Ayra Starr, who he thought sang the song.

He claims that to make the awards ceremony more exciting, numerous nominations were extended to Nigerian performers.
