It's government responsibility to make life better not mine - Burna Boy to Twitter user

Highly controversial Nigerian Afrofusion sensation, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, says Nigerians deserve everything happening to them because they have refused to channeled their energy to the appropriate quarters.

The award-winning singer’s comment comes against the backdrop of Wednesday’s fire outbreak at the Treasury House, a building housing the office of the accountant-general of the federation (AGF).

TopNaija.ng had reported how fire gutted the building — located on Samuel Ladoke Akintola boulevard at Garki 2 area of the federal capital territory (FCT).

In an ostensible mockery of the incident, the ‘African Giant’ wondered why the fire outbreak would occur at a time when the federal government is working on disbursement of funds among other palliatives to lessen the economic burden of the coronavirus pandemic on Nigerians.

“Nigeria I hail thee. Have you heard the new one? Fire has gutted the AGF office, the country’s finance room is on fire. They’ve disburse funds, now the AGF’s office has caught fire,” he said in his Instagram story.

He went on to corroborate comedian AY in calling out Nigerians who canvassed the arrest of Funke Akindele, Nollywood actress for flouting the Lagos state’s lockdown directives.

According to him, until Nigerians dissipate the same level of energy used in calling out celebrities on social media in highlighting the wrongdoings of politicians in the country, they would continue to suffer.

“Nigerians deserve everything that is happening to them in the country. Yes, I said so. They deserve it because if we the youths on Twitter and other social media platforms can channel that same energy we used in pushing for the arrest of Funke Akindele for holding a party in her house, we’ll get it right,” he continued.

“The same energy used to push for the arrest of innocent woman working for her money and feed her family. Now, she has lost her endorsement deals, they (Nigerians) should use that same energy and tackle their politicians whom they’ve have learnt to love and embrace despite the fact that they keep embezzling money that belong to the people.

“They are the ones looting your money but you still love them, we (that acquire all we have with our sweats, Nigerians hate that one. You people should use that same energy, if not, you’ll suffer, you people shouldn’t worry. This is the beginning. The finance office has been burnt down, money don share.”
