Why Mohamed Salah is not a World Class player -- Paul Ince

Manchester United icon Paul Ince has stirred debate in the football world by questioning the status of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah as a world-class player in terms of technique.

Paul Ince conceded that Salah’s statistical achievements align with those of a world-class player but suggested that the Egyptian forward still has room for improvement in technical aspects of his game.

Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Mohamed Salah has garnered widespread acclaim for his consistent performances, with many considering him as one of the team’s most dependable players.

Salah’s contributions to Liverpool’s success have been significant, with the 31-year-old tallying an impressive record of 209 goals and 88 assists in 340 appearances for the Merseyside club.

His impact has helped secure major trophies for Liverpool, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.

Throughout the current season, Mohamed Salah has maintained his exceptional goal-scoring form, further solidifying his reputation as a key figure for Liverpool.

However, despite Salah’s remarkable achievements, Ince highlighted an aspect of the forward’s game that he believes requires refinement.

“His record speaks volumes. Is he a world-class player? Technically, I wouldn’t go as far,” Paul Ince stated in an interview with talkSPORT.

“There are instances when he cuts inside on his left foot and delivers balls into the box that are not of the highest quality. But in terms of scoring goals and creating opportunities, he undoubtedly excels.”
