"Why Manchester United defeated us" -- Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, acknowledged Manchester United‘s deserving victory following a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford, expressing that the hosts exhibited remarkable energy throughout the match.

In the aftermath of Chelsea’s loss to Manchester United, Pochettino conceded that the home side merited the win, attributing their triumph to a display of significant vigor on the field.

Pochettino suggested that Chelsea might have been impacted by their previous match, where they played with a numerical disadvantage for a considerable duration, making it challenging to assess and adapt in matches like the one against Manchester United.

“Manchester United deserved to win the game. They showed massive energy,”

“Maybe we were affected, because we played Sunday with one less player for 60 minutes with similar players. This type of game is difficult to assess.”

The defeat at the iconic stadium came as a result of a stellar performance from Manchester United’s midfielder, Scott McTominay, who netted both goals for the hosts.

Despite Chelsea’s efforts, their new signing Cole Palmer managed to level the score with a goal just before halftime, but it ultimately stood as a mere consolation as Manchester United clinched the victory.

The loss marks a setback for Chelsea as they look to maintain their standing in the Premier League, with Pochettino reflecting on the challenges faced against a high-energy Manchester United side.

Chelsea currently sit 10th in the premier league table.
