Why Kai Havertz cannot be benched -- Mikel Arteta

What dirt has German star, Kai Havertz got on his managers to warrant consistent game time despite his struggles on pitch during critical games? It has been a steady question in the mind of football fans and even the player’s club fans in criticism of the former Chelsea star.

And now, Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has taken to the podium to defend the Germany international in front of the club fans the reason why managers cannot risk benching Kai Havertz.

According to Mikel Arteta, the former Bayer Leverkusen star’s work rate is what gives Kai Havertz the edge in consistent game time.

In Arteta’s defense of Havertz, it gives a window into his loyalty for the German and also why many of the former Chelsea player’s managers couldn’t risk benching him.

“I’ll tell you what I feel about him, that I love him and I see his qualities every day in training.

“His workrate is excellent, a lot of the things he does at the front of the team is so good, the visual one,” he said.

Going further into the narrative, the Spaniard urges the Gunners fanbase to offer Kai Havertz their support as opposed to criticisms over his lack of goal contribution to the team.

According to Arteta, the former Chelsea forward has other qualities aside goal scoring, which should give fans an excuse into expressing more love for the German international like every other Arsenal player in the squad.

Kai Havertz joined the Blues in a £65million deal from Chelsea this summer but has not scored a goal or provided an assist in his opening four matches.

Havertz’s move to Arsenal came on the baggage of criticisms with Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta now sitting in press conferences to do PR duties for the German international.
