Why Jude Bellingham will Choose Them Over Us—Rio Ferdinand

Jude Bellingham would 100 percent choose Manchester City over us, Rio Ferdinand believes regarding the England international’s next move.

England star, Jude Bellingham is very much a wanted man by all the top teams in Europe and if anything is to go by the Borussia Dortmund midfielder’s performance at the world cup, it’s that his stars and stakes are about to rise more than ever.

The opener versus Iran was chance enough to provide Jude Bellingham an opportunity to put his country in the lead after a 30 minutes display from both teams saw a dragged out goalless draw that only took the exit of Iran’s first choice goalie leaving the pitch injured to change the shape of the game.

One man who is concerned about Bellingham’s form this season though, is Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand who worries that his team wouldn’t be able to snap the Dortmund star from Germany when the time comes.

Rio Ferdinand, who is a former Manchester United defender, stated that Jude Bellingham would likely join Manchester City as opposed to Manchester United should he leave Dortmund.

On Monday, the 19-year-old had an outstanding World Cup debut, scoring in England’s 6-2 thrashing of Iran.

In the first goal against Carlos Quieroz’s team, Bellingham leapt to the highest position to head in a cross from Luke Shaw. As the Three Lions got going, he went on to control the middle.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder received praise for it from players all across the footballing world.

After the game, Ferdinand claimed on the podcast Vibe With Five that Bellingham will only join United if he believes he can spark change.

He said:

“I actually think if you put yourself in Jude Bellingham’s shoes right now you have for instance, [Manchester] City are going to be in for him.

“Real Madrid are going to be in for him, Barcelona are going to be in for him, Bayern will probably go in for him.

“There’s too much work to be done at [Manchester] United. It is whether he thinks ‘you know what, I can be the catalyst to pull this club where it should be” that is the only way he goes.’”

Bellingham is rumored to be leaving Dortmund the next year.

The Bundesliga team has previously stated that they won’t obstruct the youngster should he request a transfer.
