Why I didn’t believe Chioma's claim about dating Davido – Peruzzi

Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, renowned Nigerian singer popularly known as Peruzzi, has said that he found it hard to believe his distant cousin, Chioma, when she said she was dating popular entertainer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

Peruzzi revealed in new interview that around the time when Chioma told him about her relationship with Davido, he noticed that the ‘Assurance’ crooner was always showing love and support towards his songs and brand on his social media platform.

He said, “After my mother’s burial; I was going home and someone sent me a message on Twitter, commending my song. The person asked if I remembered her. After she explained who she was, I remembered her. She told me Davido sent my song to her. I didn’t believe it. She further told me that they were dating and she is like my distant cousin, so I didn’t even see it coming.

“I felt like how can she be dating Davido and I wouldn’t know since. She was able to convince me after she sent me some pictures; she told me he was going to be around the next day. She invited me to his welcome party and I went there around 2 am at Club 57.

“Once Davido entered with his entourage, I was scared. He was facing me, but I didn’t know what to do. I moved to see him carefully. He looked at me and called my name. I was happy and I held him. He told me he loved my songs and that I should come to his house. That was the best night of my life. I sent Chioma a text; that I was with him.

“I couldn’t sleep that night because I was too excited. She (Chioma) is my mother’s cousin’s daughter. But she is my cousin; that is how we refer to each other. I don’t have a proper contract with Davido; he is my guy so I am not worried about that. Some people have lived with him for years without any contract.”

In the past, Peruzzi has been insulted for wearing Davido’s clothes, but when asked if he felt bad about it, he said there was nothing wrong in wearing his ‘guy’s’ clothes.

He said, “How would you see something you like and you can’t tell your male friend that you like it? I told him I liked an outfit and he gave it to me. I have come to realise that no matter what I do, people would talk. I don’t let it get to me.”

The singer, who left medicine to pursue a career in music, also spoke about some of the challenges he went through before he rose to stardom. He said, “I was born into a family where everybody sings. I have two sisters, and I am the last child and the only son. My dad bought me a piano when I was seven years old. The first song I ever learnt how to play was a gospel song. I was a member of the choir; I was born into a Christian family.

“My dad was an engineer and my mum was a nurse. After high school, I went to university to study medicine and surgery. In my first year, I didn’t do music because I had to be serious. In my second year, I was at the dinner of a Valentine’s Day party and my guys set me up to sing. People liked my rendition and wanted me to continue singing.

“I continued, and they started paying me to perform at shows. I started battling with doing music and medicine. I was doing it like that till my third year. After my fifth year, I had issues after my passport was stolen. I travelled to get a new passport and that was when Extreme Music contacted me. I was stressed out and decided to return to Nigeria.

“I needed about $400 to complete the money needed for my flight ticket back to Nigeria and my girlfriend gave it to me. We packed my things together and she was even crying. I didn’t tell my father I was coming (to Nigeria); I only told my immediate sister and mother. When my father saw me, he thought l came home for a holiday.

“When he realised I left my studies, he called a family meeting. I had to leave the house and rent an apartment close to the house because I still needed food from home as I didn’t have money at the time. There was no pocket money coming from my father anymore.

“My mum used to send me food. I tried my best but it wasn’t working out. One man from Malaysia listened to my song and signed me but it still didn’t work out. I went to Abuja but my father was still disturbing me and asking me to go back to school.

“The pressure was too much and I had to break up with my girlfriend at the time. I started drinking but I decided to channel my anger into writing songs. I didn’t listen to any Nigerian music for three years; I was trying to find myself. I was writing songs and singing it to the people in the house.

“Three years later, I recorded a song and after that, I lost my mother to cancer. I cried but I still released the song because I was determined. I kept sharing the song. Even though I got blocked by people on social media, I persisted. I went to Abuja to do radio rounds.

“I slept and woke up one evening, only to check my phone and saw messages from people telling me to check Davido’s Snapchat account. I saw that he liked my song; I was excited. I still didn’t know what to do. I wasn’t tempted to send Davido a message on social media. My song, Amaka, with Tuface also changed my life financially; I got a lot of calls for shows.”

Peruzzi also talked about how he sold his car to buy some drugs for his ailing mother before she died.

“When we realised my mother was diagnosed with cancer; I had to put my car on auction immediately. I wanted to quickly send money to people to help me get the drugs she needed. I could only get the drugs from India but they still didn’t work. I still see myself going back to complete my degree in medicine and surgery but I don’t see myself sitting in the hospital.”

Jordyn Woods takes lie detector test to prove she didn’t sleep with Khloe Kardashian’s baby daddy

Jordyn Woods takes lie detector test

Kylie Jenner’s ex-Best friend, Jordyn Woods took a lie detector test in a bid to prove she didn’t sleep with Khloe Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend and baby daddy Tristan Thompson.

In a short clip that was shared on the Red Table Talk show, Jada Pinkett Smith confirmed that Jordyn did take a lie detector test during her appearance on the show earlier this year.

Jada said;

“Jordyn did take a lie detector test … it was Jordyn’s request. It was her request to be here, and it was her request to take the lie detector test. We had a forensic polygraphist with more than 25 years of experience in criminal and civil investigations.

“It wasn’t for this show — it was for [Woods] and for people that she loves.”

Before taking the test, the 22-year-old businesswoman said she was doing it to prove her innocence. During the test, Jordyn was asked right off the bat if she had sexual intercourse with Thompson, but she replied “NO”.

At the end of the 2-hour test, Shon Thurman who is a certified polygraphist said;

“Jordyn, I thought you did a fantastic job, and you definitely passed and I believe you’re being truthful on the test.”

Though Jordyn Woods and Kylie Jenner are yet to fully reconcile as friends after reports of her tryst with Thompson first surfaced in February, she has continuously denied having sex with the NBA star.

Yomi Black & Toke Makinwa continue their drag season, Yomi responds

Yomi Black & Toke Makinwa continue their drag season, Yomi responds

Filmmaker, Yomi Black, has replied Toke Makinwa who dragged him on her IG page over his controversial post about her.

Trouble started on Sunday, December 8th when Yomi Black reposted an Instagram post by Digital marketer, Soji Ogunnaike, who dared the media personality to openly show how she can afford her lifestyle.

Toke Makinwa found Yomi’s post distasteful and took to her IG page to drag him, sharing screenshots of his meassages to her.

The media personality disclosed that they fell out after he asked for free TM bags for a product placement on his production which she turned down. Toke who recounted feeding Yomi’s crew while on his movie set, added that he has always taken and has never given anyone.

Toke Makinwa wrote;

Excuse me while I drop my crown for 5 minutes.
Inside life…… this life is a pot of beans. Now this is a public service announcement, if I have ever supported you with my time, platform, money, and more pls don’t ever come for me. You look stupid when you try. Some of you will be all up in the DM looking for favors yet want to sound Intelligent in these SM streets. Should we really tell Nigerians how you went from licking my ass to dragging me online?

This world we live in is strange, I have messages from you like this one, I would usually look away cos you are not the first but Yomi, you ungrateful fool, I have worked with you on projects with only a promise of “i”ll pay you back when we find sponsors”, which you never did, and I let it go, I have stuck my neck out for you when stylists, designers and the likes wanted your head on a platter cos you made them work without pay, when all you had was a dream, I was willing to support you with my platform, I have fed cast and crew on your shameless sham of a set and you have the nerve to come for me????

I have receipts of how much of a loser you are but I’ll leave this one here, you asked for free TM bags for a product placement on your production which I turned down cos I’m sorry your platform does nothing for me, and I am running a business, I asked you to pay for it and you got mad, you’ve always taken but never given to anyone, who have you helped??? Who have you supported?

it’s always been the other way round, you couldn’t get a freebie and now i am your enemy? Tell me, if I’m everything you say I am, why do you want to associate yourself with me? I was such an inspiration to you in private huh???? See my people hustle oooo so you don’t go from “you’re such an inspiration” to this #MCM #yourmcmisreaching

Well, Yomi took to his IG page this morning to reply her. Read his response below

On this issue, I would like to say I understand why Toke responded the way she did.
The bloggers set a trap for her and she fell for it.
I admit I saw Soji Ogunaike’s comment on Instablog and I thought it was very interesting, especially since Soji dared her to show how she made a living.

I shared it because I really thought there was a lesson there.
In the post I made it clear that it was copied from Soji Ogunaike, but the bloggers reported the story and cropped out the credit to insight a war between Toke and I. They even made the headlines more interesting by saying I (Yomi Black) dared her to show how she earns her living.

The truth is Toke and I go way back, because of our friendship, we have done a few projects in the past. As a young entrepreneur, you have to leverage your friends when you are growing.

All of those projects benefited both of us in many ways, I remember at least one that benefitted us financially (a YouTube video campaign for Chicken republic in 2013). I also remember that I did a series of photoshoots for her to launch her Vlogs on YouTube.
Fast forward to 2017, I was creating a big budget Tv series #MRBADMUS, I had loads of opportunities to promote products, and naturally I thought of my friends doing well. I reach out too many of them and offered to promote their brand on the TV show for free. I reached out to Toke especially because I wanted to compensate her for some of the projects we worked on in 2013 that did not yield financially, but at that time, Toke was at the peak of attention, so I am guessing she didn’t need it.
So naturally I gave that opportunity to someone else.

The truth is I do love Toke and her ambition inspires me, only a few people can do what needs to be done to get the Job . I am one, so I know the scarifies.

Toke asked me a question that got me thinking “who have you helped?” The truth is I am a pillar of support to many people, and I do it without the cameras.

Finally, I will say to Toke, I do not take offense with your backlash, I understand that the bloggers are to blame, I only wished you used that opportunity to tell us how you really make a living. Especially for the young ones watching”.
