The United States President Joe Biden opened up about his past struggles with suicidal thoughts following the tragic loss of his first wife, Neilia, and their one-year-old daughter, Naomi, in a car accident in Delaware on December 18, 1972.

In an interview with radio journalist Howard Stern, Joe Biden opened up about the depths of his grief, acknowledging that he had contemplated taking his own life during a moment of despair.

He disclosed, “For a brief moment I thought maybe I’ll just go to Delaware Memorial Bridge and just jump, but I had two kids.”

Reflecting on his coping mechanisms after his wife’s death, Joe Biden admitted to occasionally considering turning to alcohol as a means of numbing his pain.

However, he emphasized that he ultimately refrained from doing so, citing his personal choice to abstain from drinking, which he attributed to his family history and a sense of responsibility towards his children.

The revelations came during an unanticipated appearance on Stern’s SiriusXM show, which was not publicized on the president’s official schedule and was only announced by the White House once the interview was underway.

Amidst discussions about his personal struggles, Biden also expressed a willingness to engage in debates with his political adversary, former President Donald Trump. He stated, “I am, somewhere, I don’t know when, but I am happy to debate him.”
