Why Christen Eriksen hasn’t signed for Man United

Man United in this summer transfer window aren’t known for going into the market and making the swift move to nab a player of their desire.

Instead, they hang in there up until the dire minute to land their signing, all while frustrating its fans and attracting quite the publicity once official confirmation is announced.

But for the case of the Old Trafford outfits interests in Danish midfielder, Christian Eriksen, it’s quite a different scenario though, as reports state that Man United are being cautious particularly with the medicals.

It is said the club wants to take a more rigorous approach to study his medical tests before making any moves for the former Tottenham player.

The report comes courtesy of Sky Sports News reporter, Melissa Reddy, who notes the delay in announcement isn’t based on contractual issues but a concern for fitness.

Christian Eriksen recently became a free agent after his 6 months spell with Premier League club, Brentford expired in June 30th, and prior to then he had attracted interests from a host of clubs including former club, Tottenham Hotspur.

The concern by Man United over Eriksen’s fitness comes from the fact that the midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest months back while playing in the Euros for Denmark.

Since then European clubs showed reluctance in having the player in their squad with Inter Milan terminating his contract due to Italian football laws, with Brentford giving him the chance at a comeback.

“Christian Eriksen is the one Manchester United expect will next get done. There’s a verbal agreement in place between him and the club. United say there’s no delays, but given his history with the cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, you have to be more rigorous in the medical.

“There’s positivity, everything will be fine. United are confident Eriksen will form part of their pre-season plans in Australia. That is one that is very close,” Melissa Reddy revealed.
