Why Buhari can’t seek medical care in Nigeria, says Femi Adesina

Special Adviser to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina has disclosed why his principal cannot seek medical care in Nigeria.

Adesina declared that President Buhari could not be treated in Nigeria since he has his own medical team in the United Kingdom.

In accordance with him, Buhari has used the medical team for over 40 years, therefore the need to keep seeking medical care in the nation.

Adesina disclosed this while defending Buhari’s recurrent medical trip to the United Kingdom.

Top Naija had earlier reported that the President had on Monday departed Abuja for London to allow him to attend the Global Education Summit on Financing Global Partnership for Education (GPE) 2021-2025 in the UK.

Revealing this, Adesina said Buhari would stay in London for two weeks to allow him to undergo his earlier planned medical checkup in London.

When questioned why the President could not have been treated in Nigeria, Adesina revealed to Channels Television’s Politics Today monitored by Top Naija saying, “President Buhari has been with the same doctors and medical team for upward of 40 years.

“It’s advisable that he continues with those who know his medical history and that is why he comes to London to see them.

“He has used the same medical team for over 40 years. Once you can afford it, then stay with the team that has your history.”
