Talented Nigerian Afrobeats vocalist, Yemi Alade has asked President Muhammadu Buhari for the stimulus package for people he directed to stay at home during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

The federal government had among other measures announced closure of schools as well as religious gatherings while ordering people to stay at home to prevent further spread of the virus in the country.

The directives, however, have been taking a huge toll on many Nigerians who are struggle to eke out a living staying at home.

Reacting to the development on her social media page, the ‘Mama Africa’ crooner wondered why the Buhari-led government would introduce such initiatives without providing palliative measures.

“Mr. president and the senate, what is the economy stimulus package for the citizens of this country, as you say all should stay at home?,” she wrote on Twitter.

She also noted such situation becomes worrying that the same government who could approve N150 billion for 500 legislators did not have any package for the ordinary citizens.

“#COVID19 The Nigerian Government can budget N150 billion for 500 legislators. But don’t have any package for it citizens sitting at home.”
