“This is my first AFCON. Not an easy one to win,” — Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro acknowledges ahead of the 2023 AFCON finale in Cote d’Ivoire.

In anticipation to the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) final showdown, Jose Peseiro, emphasized the necessity for the Nigerian team to exert their utmost effort to secure victory in the prestigious tournament.

Addressing reporters during a pre-match press conference, Peseiro acknowledged the formidable challenge ahead, highlighting the competitive nature of the AFCON tournament and the significance of emerging triumphant.

Expressing his aspirations for the Super Eagles, Peseiro articulated his determination to overcome their opponents from Cote d’Ivoire and clinch the AFCON title in the upcoming encounter.

The highly anticipated final between the Super Eagles and their counterparts from Cote d’Ivoire is scheduled to kick off at 9 pm at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan.

Peseiro underscored the electrifying atmosphere expected at the final match, with a packed stadium set to witness the culmination of the tournament.

“It’s the final, good atmosphere, with a full stadium. Our players know that it is not easy to win the AFCON and they must put in their best to win.

Reflecting on his first experience coaching in the AFCON, Peseiro acknowledged the unique emotions and intensity associated with football in Africa.

“Playing a final is always important. This is my first AFCON. Some were saying it’s been special, and I can attest to that.

“The emotions in Africa are very special. All of this in my opinion is a great way to learn and I would love to win it with the Nigerian team,”
