What Mr. Ibu said hours to his death

A poignant video capturing one of the final moments of veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has surfaced following his passing on Saturday.

In the circulating video on social media, the late actor can be seen lying on his hospital bed, expressing gratitude to singer Rudeboy of P-Square just hours before his demise.

Mr. Ibu, in the video, conveyed a message of acceptance, stating that all events unfold according to God’s timing. He expressed his appreciation to Rudeboy, acknowledging the divine plan in life’s journey.

Addressing Rudeboy, Mr Ibu said, “Rudeboy, I don’t know where to begin. But everything happens exactly on God’s own time. When the time comes, it has come.”

He added a touch of humor, stating, “Rudeboy, if you don’t make heaven, call me nama [meat]. You will go to heaven and we will sit in the presence of the angels and eat together.”

Reflecting on the potential surprise of their friendship, Mr. Ibu humorously predicted the reactions, saying, “What people will be talking about today would be, ‘How come? But Ibu and P-Square, they are not the same parents.’ But I tell you, parents don come.”

The beloved actor passed away at the age of 62 due to cardiac arrest.
