“What Klopp built has epitomized modern Liverpool” — Minamino

Liverpool’s 2021/22 season’s ‘quadruple’ hero, Takumi Minamino speaks on Jurgen Klopp leaving the club.
Former Liverpool player, Takumi Minamino now playing in the French Ligue 1 for AS Monaco has reacted to the reports of Jurgen Klopp leaving the Merseyside club at the end of the season.
The Liverpool boss who is set to depart Anfield after the end of the season, has attracted lots of reaction from far and wide, and now the former Liverpool winger/midfielder has joined the list of individuals to share their views on the matter.
Speaking while on international duty with Japan in the Asian Cup, Takumi Minamino spoke fondly of his former boss, saying;
“My image of Liverpool has been equal to that of a team managed by Mr. Klopp. What he has built has epitomized the Liverpool of recent times.”
The Japanese star expressed that it will feel strange to see the German no longer the head coach of the Liverpool team as he considers the modern day Liverpool as the face of what Jurgen Klopp built.
“It feels strange that will be gone. They are still in with a chance to win all titles available this season and I hope he gets his last hurrah.”
With the Reds in the running for a quadruple charge again, Takumi Minamino is backing his former side to go for it and give Klopp his last dance with the club the perfect send off.
The AS Monaco player also had a taste of a quadruple challenge during his time at Liverpool, with Minamino playing a key role in winning the Reds the Carabao Cup and FA Cup before leaving the club after the 2021/22 season.
Ironically, his teammate in the Japanese squad, Wataru Endo will have his part to play in same challenge after the Asian Cup ends.
