What I Really Want -- Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker currently playing for Napoli in the Italian Serie A, has expressed his desire to play in the English Premier League (EPL) in the future. The 22-year-old has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 21 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions for the Italian club.

Reports suggest that Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing Osimhen and are expected to make a move for him in the upcoming summer transfer window.

In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Victor Osimhen acknowledged his interest in playing in the Premier League but stated that his focus is currently on Napoli. “I think it is an ambition of all players. And who knows, maybe one day,” said Osimhen.

“Right now, I can assure you that it hasn’t even crossed my mind. It would distract me from what has been a beautiful season. Only Napoli. That’s all.”

The Nigerian’s impressive performances have attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, but Napoli is expected to demand a high transfer fee for the striker, who is contracted to the Italian club until 2025.

Osimhen began his professional career at the Nigerian club Ultimate Strikers Academy before moving to Germany to play for Wolfsburg. He later joined Charleroi in Belgium before moving to Lille, where he made a name for himself with his impressive performances in the French top flight.

In the summer of 2020, Osimhen made a big-money move from Lille to Napoli, and he has quickly established himself as one of the club’s key players. With his eye-catching performances, the Nigerian striker has been named the Serie A’s Player of the Month twice this season.

Should Chelsea or Manchester United make a move for Osimhen, they will have to pay a significant amount to acquire his services, considering his impressive form this season and his long-term contract with Napoli. However, it remains to be seen whether the Italian club will be willing to part ways with their star striker.
