What Arteta’s anger was like when Arsenal didn’t make Top 4

Talk about a season that had bits of optimism to it for Arsenal fans, then it would be the 2021/22 season when the club stood very close to grasping one of the top 4 berth that sees them in Champions League places.

But like how very Arsenal things could get, the Gunners failed to cross the bridge just when they were close to the finish line.

The club started drawing out all the negative results from games, drawing games they shouldn’t be drawing or losing games catastrophically that they shouldn’t be losing.

Though Mikel Arteta tried to play the team’s incompetence down by taking the blame, it soon got quite tough that the Spaniard called his players into the dressing room and ripped into each and every one of them.

It was the defeat to Newcastle that took a toil on him when he realized the chances for a top 4 finish had slipped his grasp and thus had once again failed to qualify for the Champions League.

In the All or Nothing documentary series, Arteta was seen losing his cool on the Arsenal players the minute the loss to Tottenham Hotspur confirmed there was in no way in hell they could finish 4th.

The Spaniard like his former boss, Pep Guardiola, pulled no punches in his attack.

“It is f*cking embarrassing to come here the way we have done it,” He spat during his post-match changing room speech to the team.

“Embarrassing. What happened today is f*cking unacceptable and if you accept something like this, you live in a different world.

“Don’t worry, I will face the people. Today it is hard to defend you guys. Hard. I will take all the sh*t, again!”
