West Ham vs. Arsenal: Gunners slip, Guardiola happy

In a highly-anticipated London derby, West Ham United and Arsenal clashed in a game with high stakes for both teams. The exhilarating fixture saw West Ham come from two goals down to draw 2-2 with the Gunners.

Both teams were looking to secure the bragging rights and the stakes were high with survival in the Premier League and a title challenge on the line. Arsenal had a chance to regain their 6-point lead, while West Ham were looking to climb further up the ladder.

The game started brightly for Arsenal as Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard put the Gunners two goals ahead in the first half. However, just like their game against Liverpool the previous weekend, Arsenal let their lead slip away.

West Ham’s Said Benrahma converted a penalty spot-kick to reduce the deficit and give his team hope. Arsenal had a chance to restore their two-goal advantage when they were awarded a penalty for a handball decision against West Ham, but Bukayo Saka failed to convert it.

West Ham capitalized on Arsenal’s miss and equalized two minutes later through an Aaron Cresswell goal, resulting in a dragged-out 2-2 draw. The result was a disappointment for Arsenal and their fans, while West Ham would be happy with the point.

Manchester City, who are leading the Premier League table, would also be pleased with the result as Arsenal’s slip-up makes it easier for them to secure the title.
