We Would Do Everything To Bring Messi Home—Barcelona
Lionel Messi and his future have become something of a talked-about topic recently following the world cup win with Argentina, and for former club, Barcelona, certainly hasn’t given up the idea of bringing the Argentine star back home.
Messi has been reported to have agreed on verbal basis, terms for an extension to life in Paris, and for Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, that wouldn’t stop them dreaming of the star’s return to La Liga and to Camp Nou.
Lionel Messi’s return to Barcelona is something that the club would “very much” want, according to Barcelona president Joan Laporta.
In 2021, Messi left the La Liga team for Paris Saint-Germain after nearly 20 years and multiple championships at Barcelona.
The 35-year-first old’s two-year deal with PSG expires in the summer, but it is said that he has reached an agreement to extend it until the summer of 2024.
Laporta is optimistic that Messi will rejoin the team in the future, though.
“For us, he is the best player of all time.
“We have had him here and I am convinced that in his heart he is a Culé and will always be linked to Barça.
“Whether or not he comes back as a player, at the moment he is at PSG and we would very much like him to come back one day, but we will see,” Laporta told club media, per Barca Universal.
