We Weren’t Perfect Enough—Graham Potter On Chelsea Defeat

Ever since Arsenal crashed the London bridge at Stamford, things have not remained the same for London, specifically in the Carabao cup for London clubs as teams like a Graham Potter led Chelsea side, Arsenal, Brentford, West Ham, Tottenham and the likes all crashed out of the competition in the early stages.

For a Graham Potter side, it was like an upgrade to the game against Arsenal over the weekend, at least in terms of the performance the Blues show cased on the night against Manchester City.

Graham Potter, the manager of Chelsea, has explained why his team lost to Manchester City in an EFL Cup game on Wednesday.

The Englishman pointed out that there were a lot of positives to take home despite their loss and early elimination.

The former Brighton manager said, “There was a lot to enjoy” about the game, noting that his team had many chances to score but came up empty-handed.

“We created some big chances and attacked well. We weren’t perfect, but did a lot right in the game,” he told Sky Sports.

“It was a pleasing performance, a step forward in terms of how we want to play. I’m disappointed with the result but happy with the performance.”

The Blues will now take on a spirited Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday before the World Cup break.

For a lot of reasons, this could spell big troubles for the Graham Potter whose wizardry appears to fading at the moment. But for Chelsea fans, they will hope the weekend will start with the Blues fixing the London bridge at least before the World Cup comes.
