We wanted to show who we are to Chelsea--Arteta

A game between Arsenal and Chelsea is never a friendly no matter what it is titled, this is quoting Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp before the German’s side ended up being stumped by arch rivals, Manchester United in Bangkok.

But contrary to the Liverpool boss, Arteta did live up to the statement’s promise as his team refused to succumb to Chelsea to prove a point; they were the Gunners.

And them being the Gunners, how more could they prove so but to Gun down the Blues in America like an assassin would, in a 4-0 trashing in the Florida Cup final early hours of Sunday.

But for the Spaniard, it is nothing to get too all carried away though but rather to prove something—their identity.

It was goals from Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Albert Sambi Lokonga that dealt Chelsea a blow at the Camping World Stadium.

“The way we played, the intensity we showed, the way we were trying to show who we are as a team. But at the same time, it’s just a test match,” Arteta said at his post-match press conference.

“Don’t get carried away. There are still a lot of things that we have to get better at and do better.

“But I think it’s good to get some momentum, finish the tour in the right way, give some enjoyment to our fans and everybody that’s been contributing to make this tour happen. Now it’s time to go back to London, to focus and keep making improvements and steps forward.”
