Real Madrid forward, Eden Hazard, has spoken out about his troubled relationship with the club’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti. According to the player, the Italian coach has frozen him out of the first team, leading to a breakdown in communication between the two.

Hazard, who joined Real Madrid from Chelsea in a record-breaking €100million deal in 2019, has endured a torrid time at the Spanish club, with injuries and inconsistent form preventing him from making a significant impact.

The Belgian has not played a single minute of La Liga or Champions League action since his return from the World Cup, despite being fit to play. And now, in a candid interview with Spanish daily Diario AS, Hazard has admitted that his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti is strained, but he still hopes to remain at the club beyond this summer.

“I would like to stay. I have always said that. I hope to play and to show that I can still do it,” Hazard said. “People have doubts, that is normal, I understand. But for me, I am still here next year. You never know, but a transfer is not in my plan.”

Despite the difficulties he has faced, Hazard insists that he still has respect for Ancelotti and the contribution he has made to football. “There is respect between Ancelotti and I. But I am not going to say we talk to each other, because we don’t. But there will always be respect,” he said. “I have to have respect for a guy like Ancelotti. For what he represents in football and for what he’s done in his career.”

Hazard’s comments are likely to fuel speculation about his future at Real Madrid, with many fans and analysts questioning whether the club will look to offload him in the summer. However, the player himself seems determined to stay and prove his worth, despite the challenges he has faced.

Whether he can do so remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the relationship between Hazard and Carlo Ancelotti is not what it once was.
