"We have accepted our fate" — Bruno Fernandes on Man United

Manchester United endured a very forgettable afternoon at Old Trafford last weekend shortly before the international break, but if anyone is expecting Bruno Fernandes to turn cloak and run, the Portugal international won’t.

The Man United captain shortly after the 0-3 defeat to fiercest rivals Liverpool, has broken his silence about his future and the future of the club he plays for. The Portugal international in a rather sad moment, admitted the realities facing the Red Devils moving forward, with Bruno Fernandes sincerely confessing that he knew Manchester United would not be fighting for a premier league title.

In his words, Bruno Fernandes revealed he knew this before signing a long-term commitment at the club, reiterating his interest to remain at the club and help the team move forward even if Man United fail to challenge for a premier league title in the nearest future.

Speaking to reporters, the Manchester United skipper said:

“I said it during the contract extension, it’s a long-term commitment. I’m fully aware that United are not ready to win the league at the moment. The minimum objective is to finish in the top four.”

Bruno Fernandes admitting the ultimate goal for now is to challenge for the top 4 spot in the premier league, is one that many Manchester United fans may cringe for, considering the amount spent so far under current manager, Erik ten Hag.

The former Sporting Lisbon player goes on to add:

“We are aware that we still have many things to improve to be able to dream of this great objective, which is what I want and what we all want, that is to win the championship.”
