We have a plan to qualify for Champions League — Ten Hag
Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag still remains very much a believer in miracles and despite the Red Devils’ recently challenges this season, the Dutchman still stands by the idea that his team can still do the impossible of finishing in the Champions League places.
However, according to the former Ajax manager, there is a catch in order to secure a return to Europe next season.
Erik ten Hag believes Manchester United can be a guaranteed candidate for the Champions League spots if they can finish 5th in the premier league.
The Red Devils suffered a 2-1 defeat against Manchester City this past Sunday, leaving them in sixth place with 44 points and a -2 goal difference after 27 matches.
As it stands, United trails behind Liverpool (63 points), Manchester City (62 points), Arsenal (58 points), Aston Villa (55 points), and Tottenham (50 points) in the league standings.
Speaking to reporters, ten Hag expressed his determination, stating, “Number five can also be a position for the Champions League, so we have to fight for it.”
Ten Hag’s comments may come off as arrogant for a few Manchester United fans who are eyeing the Dutchman’s exit, as his statement marks the reality that many die hard supporters of the club would not want to believe.
