We can only Hope—Dalot on Ronaldo
We can only hope, it’s what Manchester United defender, Diogo Dalot thinks of the Ronaldo situation at Old Trafford.
With the situation of Cristiano Ronaldo still a topic that is a top draw, the media has tried very much everything to get a sense of feeling within the Manchester United camp on the issue.
Fellow teammate at the club, Diogo Dalot was set upon and asked on his opinion about the whole transfer debacle, and even he had very little to say on the matter.
The defender preferred to be coy on the subject, preferring not to say much and only what the media and the public already knows; that the Portugal captain is going through some private family issues.
For Dalot, he revealed he had advised his compatriot not to exit the Old Trafford even though it is in the 5 time golden ball winner’s interest to leave in search of Champions League football.
The whole debacle had began with the Portuguese feeling unease with the Red Devils inactivity in the transfer market as Manchester United started the summer slow.
It was worrying for Cristiano Ronaldo as the club did not actively chase after reinforcements after a very poor season, with the reports then revealing the former Real Madrid player had tabled a transfer request to the club.
It followed with the 37 year Old’s agent, Jorge Mendes offering the player to a variety of clubs like Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.
The whole thing climaxed with Ronaldo refusing to travel with the team for its pre-season games or training, and for Diogo Dalot, he says:
“I think Cristiano is important for us,”
“What we know is he is going through some family issues, we hope everything is OK and that’s how we do.”
