We can do it -- Super Falcons' Toni Payne on the World Cup

There’s a world where the Super Falcons can go all the way to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup final, Toni Payne says after the draw versus Republic of Ireland.

The Randy Waldrum’s side secured a spot in the tournament’s Round of 16 following a 0-0 draw against the Republic of Ireland, finishing second behind group B leaders, Australia.

The Super Falcons after the group games remain unbeaten in the competition, securing 1 victory against co-hosts, Australia and 2 draws versus Canada and Ireland who both faced elimination from the tournament.

According to the Falcons’ midfielder, Toni Payne, she insists the Nigeria Super Falcons could continue with their impressive run in the competition all the way to the finish line.

“If we continue to play as we have and improve on each game, we can go all the way to the final,” the Sevilla star said after Monday’s game at Brisbane Stadium.

“We are a team of wonderful and hard-working players, and together we can achieve our goals.”

The Super Falcons finished in second place in Group B behind co-hosts Australia, and will get to face a much tougher opponent in the round of 16.

Fate could lead the West Africans to take on European champions England or Denmark in the Round of 16 next Monday at Brisbane Stadium.
