We Are Not Ruling Out Selling Osimhen – Napoli President

The President of Napoli football club, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has refused to rule out the possibility of selling their Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, despite the striker’s impressive form for the club.

The 24-year-old forward arrived at Napoli from Ligue 1 club Lille in 2020 and has become one of the most feared forwards in the world, scoring 20 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions this season, including a goal in their 2-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday night.

This match also marked the eighth consecutive game in which Osimhen scored for Napoli.

Rumors have been swirling about the future of Osimhen at Napoli, with Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea reportedly interested in securing his services in the summer transfer window.

Speaking in an interview with TNT Sports Mexico, De Laurentiis admitted that he would like to keep Osimhen at the club for a long time, but he would not be able to turn down a tempting offer for the player.

“I am very good at making contracts, so when they come to me, they are blocked, so keeping them here won’t be difficult,” De Laurentiis said. “However, never say never. Sometimes there are offers you can’t refuse, so you never know. To me, we’ll see them shine for a long time.”

The comments from De Laurentiis will undoubtedly fuel speculation about Osimhen’s future at Napoli, particularly with the growing interest from Premier League clubs. However, it remains to be seen if either Manchester United or Chelsea will make an official approach for the Nigerian striker.

Osimhen’s goals have been crucial to Napoli’s success this season, with the club currently sitting at the top of the Serie A table. The Nigerian’s contributions will be vital to the club’s hopes of winning the league and qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

It is also worth noting that Osimhen has previously expressed his happiness at Napoli, stating that he sees the club as the perfect place for him to develop as a player.

Nevertheless, if a substantial offer is tabled for the striker, it will be interesting to see if Napoli decides to cash in on their prized asset or hold on to him and continue their pursuit of domestic and European glory.
