“We are not going back” — Formalities cleared for Kamala Harris

After President Joe Biden had nominated her as his candidate for the November elections, with the Obamas joining in to do the same, it was merely a formality for Vice President Kamala Harris. 

The Vice President has officially secured the Democratic nomination for the presidency, as confirmed by Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison. During a campaign update, Harrison announced that Kamala Harris had garnered a majority of delegate votes, solidifying her position as the party’s nominee.

Expressing pride in the delegates’ swift response, Harrison emphasized the party’s unity and resolve to push forward: “You made your voices heard. We are not going back. We have to send Kamala Harris to the White House.”

Harris, already a trailblazer as the first woman, Black person, and person of South Asian descent to serve as vice president, responded to the nomination with gratitude and determination.

“I am honored to be the presumptive Democratic nominee for president of the United States,” she stated, promising a resolute campaign against former President Donald Trump in the upcoming general election.

With her potential victory, Harris stands on the brink of making history as the first woman to become president. The Democratic Party candidate is now set to take on the famed Donald Trump in the U.S polls as they battle for the soul of America.
