"We all know what'll happen with Alexander-Arnold" — Sherwood

The saying ‘when Real Madrid calls, you answer’ surely rings true and for Liverpool, they have a lot to worry when it comes to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Deep into October, there are still no words concerning a contract renewal or extension for the Scouser, leading to many narratives emerging concerning the Right-Back’s future.

Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood has lit a fuse under Liverpool fans with a bold prediction that Trent Alexander-Arnold is on the verge of a blockbuster switch to Real Madrid.

As the Spanish giants circle, eyeing a major summer move for the Reds’ homegrown hero, Sherwood insists there’s no stopping it: once Real Madrid comes calling, it’s game over.

Alexander-Arnold, who has been a cornerstone of Liverpool’s recent success, could be on his way to the Santiago Bernabéu next summer, especially as he enters the final stretch of his contract.

Sherwood believes the England international’s desire for fresh challenges and major silverware will see him exit Anfield, leaving Liverpool with “no chance” of holding on to their prized right-back.

“I think with Trent, I think he’s gone. Once Real Madrid come knocking for you… he’s won everything at the football club and been a magnificent servant but there is no chance they are keeping him now, I wouldn’t have thought.”

Sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano has already confirmed Real Madrid’s interests in Alexander-Arnold and also their decision to maintain their respect for Liverpool despite interests in signing the Englishman.

While Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are likely to stay, Sherwood is convinced Trent’s fate is sealed, as the lure of Real Madrid is too strong. After winning every major trophy with Liverpool, could the Spanish capital be the next stop for one of the Premier League’s most iconic full-backs?
