Volunteer Guards Apprehends Three Suspected Armed Robbers Terrorizing Road Users In Benue
The Benue State Community Volunteer Guards apprehended three alleged armed robbers harassing the Otukpo/Enugu federal route.
According to reports, the apprehended criminals put up a roadblock at the Okpokwu/Ogbadibo route and robbed several motorists.
According to an eyewitness, Community Volunteer Guards troops on patrol around Odoba Hill got information and quickly swung into action, resulting in the arrest of three alleged thieves on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
“On the 29/11/2023, at about 08:45 hours, a team of the state Community Volunteer Guards was on patrol along Odoba hill and received information that armed robbers were operating along the boundary between Okpokwu and Ogbadibo,” the witness narrated.
“They (the suspects) had completed their operation, but the team pursued them and successfully arrested three of them, handing them over to the Police.”
Joseph Har, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security and Internal Affairs, who announced the arrest on Thursday, praised the personnel’s bravery.
“I can confirm the commendable work the members of the BCVG are doing since the transfer and replacement of the former Zonal Commander. God will always expose them. I encourage them to keep up the momentum, especially during the Yuletide.“
