Vincent joins the Kompany of Burnley

Vincent Kompany has been announced earlier today as the new manager of Burnley Football Club.

The announcement comes after weeks of deliberation from the recently relegated club, who as from next season will be plying it’s trade in the Championship.

Kompany, who not quite long retired from football, had been manager of Belgian club, Anderlecht before his exit last season.

The former Manchester City defender and legend will take up mantle as new Clarets boss at Turf Moore in hopes of bringing the club back to the Premier League.

Vincent Kompany replaces Sean Dyche as permanent Burnley manager after Dyche was sacked midway to season’s end as the club faced relegation battle.

Sean Dyche prior to being sacked, had remained manager for 10 seasons, the longest serving Premier League manager at a single club in the turn of the 2010s.

Interim boss, Mike Jackson who was brought in to keep the club up in the Premier League failed to do so as the Clarets ended up relegated on final match day.

Though Kompany has played in the Premier League for years, returning to the English game as manager is a different challenge altogether.

It remains to be seen if the Belgian is the man to win the Clarets back promotion into the Premier League fold.
