Villarreal move for Super Eagles talent, Sadiq Umar

La Liga club and former Europa Champions have lined up Super Eagles forward and Almeria striker, Sadiq Umar as a potential replacement for the West Ham linked, Arnaut Danjuma.

The Super Eagles player who has proven himself last season with his current club, Almeria, has attracted interests from a lot of clubs, and now Villarreal are moving in quick to nab the talent.

The move is in reaction to current forward, Arnaut Danjuma’s reported move away from the club this summer.

The Nigerian-born Netherlands international has been linked with quite a few clubs this summer, judging by his performance last season with Villarreal.

At a point in the transfer window, he was linked with Premier League side, Liverpool, who were looking to replace now departed forward, Sadio Mane before signing Darwin Nunez.

With Liverpool’s interests seemingly off, Danjuma has attracted another interest from Premier League club, West Ham.

Sadiq also has attracted interests from Ajax Amsterdam and Benfica with reports now confirming he is also on the radar of 2021 Europa League winners Villarreal this summer.

The sale of Danjuma would boost Villarreal’s transfer summer, with funds being made available for the signing of Sadiq Umar.

Danjuma wants to move on following Villarreal’s failure to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Having just been promoted to the La Liga, Almeria has set an asking price for the 25-year-old valuing him at 25 million euros (approximately N10.96 billion).

Sadiq Umar has an impressive stats of 41 goals and 19 assists in 81 games since joining Almeria in 2020.
