VIDEO: “Don’t force your son to marry…” — Pastor Jerry Eze advises parents
In a thought-provoking sermon that has resonated deeply with his congregation and beyond, Nigerian Pastor Jerry Uchechukwu Eze the Lead minister of Streams of Joy International addressed the critical issue of raising responsible sons who are prepared for the challenges and responsibilities of marriage.
Pastor Eze emphasized the importance of not rushing sons into marriage if they are not ready, highlighting the potential consequences of such decisions on young women.
“If you know you have a good son, don’t force him to marry. He is about to waste the life of another young woman,” Pastor Eze stated passionately.
He expressed his concerns about sons who lack self-control, respect for women, fidelity, financial prudence, and the understanding of being the spiritual leader in their homes.
“I am worried about sons who can’t control their temper, I am worried about sons who don’t value women. I am worried about sons who have not learnt fidelity. I am worried about sons who do not know what it means to be the priest of their homes. I am worried about sons who do not know what it means to be safe. They don’t have good financial sense,” Pastor Eze elaborated, drawing attention to the various facets of a responsible and capable man.
In his address to young women, Pastor Eze advised them to carefully evaluate potential husbands by observing their behavior and values as sons. “To my girls, listen to what the pastor says, the next time he wants to be a husband, check out what he looks like as a son,” he advised, urging them to consider these factors seriously before making life-changing decisions.
