Victory Against Barcelona, My Biggest Win – Erik ten Hag

Manchester United has surely come a long way after a disastrous 2021/22 season, and the arrival of Erik ten Hag seems to have brought the team to the light at the end of the tunnel following victory against La Liga side, Barcelona.

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has described his team’s 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the Europa League as his biggest win since taking over as the club’s coach. The Red Devils secured their place in the next round of the competition thanks to goals from Fred and Antony.

Speaking in a post-match interview with BT Sport, Ten Hag was asked if this was his most significant win since joining Manchester United. He responded by saying, “I think so, yes. We have had some good wins – Liverpool and Arsenal at home. Over two legs, against Barcelona, leaders in LaLiga, eight points ahead of Real Madrid.”

Ten Hag went on to highlight the impressive form of Barcelona’s domestic rivals, Real Madrid, who were knocked out of the Champions League by Ajax earlier this week. He said, “We have all seen Real Madrid this week. So if you can beat them, then yes, this is my biggest win.”

The victory over Barcelona has undoubtedly been a significant boost for Manchester United, who have endured a mixed season so far. The Red Devils will now turn their attention to the Carabao Cup final, where they will face Newcastle United on Sunday.

With a place in the next round of the Europa League secured, Manchester United will be hoping to build on their recent form and make a push for silverware in the latter stages of the competition.
