Victor Osimhen on his relationship with Haaland

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has opened up about his admiration for fellow forward Erling Haaland, who currently plays for Manchester City. Osimhen, who has been in fine form for Italian side Napoli, said that he and Haaland share a mutual respect for each other’s game.

The two players have been in top form this season, with both of them scoring regularly for their respective clubs. Many fans and pundits have debated who is the better striker, with Osimhen admitting that he rates Haaland as one of the best strikers of his generation.

In an interview with an Italian news outlet, Osimhen revealed that he has already swapped shirts with Haaland through his Napoli teammate Leo Ostigard. Ostigard spoke highly of Haaland’s work ethic and training regime, and offered to bring Osimhen his shirt.

“I said, ‘Of course, bro,'” Victor Osimhen said. “So he spoke to Haaland, who also asked for my shirt, so we swapped them through Ostigard.”

Osimhen also commented on being compared to Haaland and being considered one of the best strikers in the world, saying that it inspires him to work harder.

“Haaland is one of the best of his generation, so to be compared with him only inspires me to do more,” Osimhen said.

The Nigerian striker has been in fine form for Napoli this season, scoring 21 goals in 23 league appearances to lead the charge for the Scudetto. He has also scored four goals in five appearances in the UEFA Champions League.
