Victor Osimhen at odds with Napoli, ready to sue Club
Nigeria Super Star and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen is reportedly at odds with the club in the wake of the 0-0 draw against Bologna.
The Super Eagles striker had moved into the front pages following his penalty miss in the fixture and his reaction to being subbed off by the manager within the game. However, the Nigerian international was quick to tender an apology to the manager and the team right after the match to lessen whatever tension that may have risen from the game.
According to a new report, the tension from the tie against Bologna is only going to escalate after a video making a mockery of Victor Osimhen was posted by the club’s official social media handle.
The video now deleted showed the likeness of Victor Osimhen from the Serie A clash versus Bologna running up to the referee and demanding a penalty. The edited clip goes on to mock the Nigerian for missing the spot kick seconds after.
Victor Osimhen is reportedly now considering legal action against the club following a controversial incident on Napoli’s official TikTok profile.
Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, issued a formal statement expressing deep concern over the matter.
In a statement released on behalf of his client, Calenda said,
“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted.
“This is a serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news.
“We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”
Could Victor Osimhen be on the cards for a 2024 exit from Napoli with tension growing between him and the club?
