World Food Programme (WFP) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Programme Policy Officer in Sao Tome, Sao Tome and Principe. The duration of this post is 1 year.

Major Responsibilities
The Programme Policy Officer will perform the following functions-
-Contribute to the development/establishment of programme goals, objectives and strategies and results-based planning through analysis of food security and nutrition needs and areas for intervention and submission of recommendations for priority and goal setting.
-Review and give technical feedback on food security assessment, beneficiaries targeting and monitoring plans and ensure that programmes are relevant, well targeted and providing appropriate response to the food and nutrition security of the assisted vulnerable population in Sao Tome and Principe.
-Contribute towards the development of a wide variety of food security and nutrition, livelihood support, resilience building projects, plans and processes, ensuring alignment with wider programmes that complies with WFP standards and procedures.
-Participate in regional food security, nutrition, markets and resilience analysis and prepare timely reports on food assessment needs in line with wider VAM policies, processes and guidance to enable effective decision-making on the development of country strategy, policies and programmes.
-Provide project management support ensuring a coordinated approach with wider programmes and country office strategies and plans.

Eligibility
Applicants must have-
-Advanced university degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in International Development, Agriculture, Agricultural economics, Economics, Rural development, Food Security, Project Management, Nutrition, Development economics, Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences or any closely related field.
-At least 3 years of professional experience in food security and nutrition programmes management, monitoring & evaluation, program cycle management and monitoring, or Programme Coordination in a humanitarian/ development context with UN Agencies, NGO, government or private sector.
-A regional or international experience would be an asset.
Fluency in English and Portuguese (level C) and intermediate knowledge of French (level B).
